Toyota is the first entry on our "motor swap" list. The Toyota 2JZ-GTE, has become a staple in the "High Power Import" world. With the stock bottom end holding up to a proven 800whp, you cannot go wrong with Toyota's most famed engine. This engine is mounted in a longitudinal configuration and is designed for rear-wheel drive applications. Below are some of the most popular vehicles to receive this swap by Precision R in the past, but by no means the only ones that can have it. Honda's B18C engine requires no introduction to our swap list. This engine is a true "david" in a world of "goliaths". The 1.8L inline 4 cylinder engine from Honda puts out a super efficient 200hp at a whopping 8000 RPM's. The VTEC system engages and punches you into the sit as if the vehicle were turbo charged. Traditionally this engine has been a top choice for swaps within it's own family (Honda), but more recently it has been used as a viable swap for both older and newer non-Honda light weight vehicles. The B18C engine was one of the first to put the American Muscle community on notice  and continues to this day to be one of the top choices for Honda motor swaps. This engine is mounted in a transverse configuration and is best suited for front-wheel drive platforms, below are the most popular vehicles to receive the B18C transplant.

Nissan's monster RB26DETT is the driving force behind the now legendary R34 Nissan Skyline. This engine was so successful and meaningful, in the world of automotive performance, that Toyota's engineers developed the famed 2JZ-GTE specifically to compete with Nissan. Same as the the Toyota engine this one is limited in it's JDM version to 280HP, but can easily produce twice that amount with-out any work to the bottom end of the engine. As a swap this engine will provide more than enough power for even the biggest speed freak, the only drawback is availability of parts, since the RB26DETT was never produced for the USDM. Nismo's N1 series RB26DETT is believed to produce well over 1900HP. This engine is mounted in a longitudinal configuration and is best suited for all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive platforms, below are some options to swap this engine into.

Honda's H22A DOHC VTEC motor is the bigger more muscular brother of the B18C. Producing hefty torque for the 2.2L platform this is your option if you hate rubber! While revving lower than it's B18C little brother this engine comes out-of-the-box with more power. Acceleration on lighter weight vehicles equipped with drag radial or slick tires is impressive, and even as an all motor swap with-out a turbo or super-charger upgrade this engine will take care of your average V8 with ease. Nissan's entry to the 4 cylinder class on our list is the feisty SR20DET. As one can see from the information above Nissan produced the engine over many years with slight variations in appearance and power. The ultimate choice when looking for an SR20DET swap is the "black notch-top" out of the Nissan Silvia S15. Producing a hefty 245 horsepower this engine will win the heart of even the pickiest of tuners. With enough low end torque to break the tires loose and enough high end power to keep you sliding these are the engines of choice for the drifting aficionado. This engine mounts in the longitudinal configuration and is best suited for front engine, rear-wheel drive vehicles. Below are the most popular cars we have been swapping the engines into.

Honda's third entry on this list is a very good one, the K20A engine from the JDM Integra Type R produced a remarkable 220hp and revs for what seems an eternity. Honda's goal when producing this engine was to make it the most powerful naturally aspirated mass produced 2.0L engine in the world, and they succeeded. This engine is a worthy successor,  if one can say such a thing, to the famous B18C. The I-VTEC system engages on factory settings at approx. 6800 RPM and it lets you know it with a hard "VTEC POP". This motor has done very well when boosted and gets better results on the dyno than any of its predecessors, mod for mod. Our First North American entry on this list is a "HEAVY HITTER", the GM LS3 found in many of General Motors' different line up of sports cars is what you might consider, A MONSTER, straight out of the box! Using an updated cast of the LS2 engine as well as significant internal changes GM accomplished MUCH with this motor. A perfect swap for a light-weight vehicle, this engine can literally take MULTIPLE seconds off your 1/4 mile times if balanced and placed correctly in a light-weight platform. Already Producing a staggering 430HP this engine has been proven to be capable of quite a bit more with "slight" modifications. For the hardcore racer, Building this engine internally and adding forced induction or nitrous makes it a monster to compete with! With a relatively low price tag in comparison to some of its newer siblings, there's no way we could leave this monster out of the list!
